General terms for competitions, prize draws and other promotions
Version 3.0 | Effective 18/08/2026 | Replaces the Competition Terms and Conditions previously published at ruroc.com/competition-terms
How these terms work. These General Terms apply to every competition, prize draw and other promotion run by Ruroc. Each promotion will also publish its own Competition Information setting out its dates, entry route, eligibility, prize, winner selection method and any additional conditions. Where the Competition Information expressly differs from these General Terms, the Competition Information takes precedence for that promotion.
Competitions, prize draws and other promotions (each a "Promotion") are run by Tytan PG Limited ("Ruroc", "we", "us" or "our"). By entering a Promotion, you agree to these Ruroc Competition Terms and Conditions ("General Terms") together with the specific instructions, eligibility requirements, prize information and other conditions published for that Promotion (the "Competition Information").
1. Who can enter
Each Promotion may have specific age, location, customer status, product, technology or other eligibility requirements. Those requirements will be stated in the Competition Information and form part of the conditions of entry.
Unless the Competition Information states otherwise, Promotions are open to entrants aged 18 or over. Where a Promotion is open to entrants under 18, Ruroc may require verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian before an entry is accepted or a prize is awarded, may request the contact details of that parent or guardian as part of the entry process, and may contact them to verify consent. Promotions with a prize that is age restricted, or that involve motorcycle or ski products intended for adult use, will be restricted to entrants aged 18 or over.
Employees of Ruroc and of any Ruroc group company, their immediate families and households, and anyone professionally connected with a Promotion or involved in judging or administering it, may not enter that Promotion.
All entries must be made by, or on behalf of, the eligible entrant in the manner permitted by the Competition Information. Ruroc may request reasonable proof of identity, age, location, permission or other eligibility before awarding a prize.
By entering, you confirm that the information you submit is true, current and complete.
2. How to enter
The Competition Information will state the opening date (if applicable), the closing date and any closing time and time zone, the permitted entry route or routes, the number of permitted entries, whether a purchase is required or a free entry route applies, and any other significant entry conditions.
Entries received outside the stated promotional period, or through a route not permitted in the Competition Information, will not be valid.
No purchase is necessary unless the Competition Information clearly states otherwise and the Promotion is structured lawfully. Postal entry is available only where the Competition Information expressly provides a postal entry route, and where it does, the postal address will be given in that Competition Information.
You do not have to consent to Ruroc direct marketing in order to enter a Promotion. Where Ruroc offers a marketing opt in, it will be presented separately from the conditions of entry and handled in accordance with applicable privacy and electronic marketing law.
An entry is treated as received only when it has been successfully submitted through the stated entry route and Ruroc has a record of it. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.
3. Entry limits and invalid entries
Where the Competition Information does not specify an entry limit, the default limit is one entry per person.
Unless the Competition Information permits otherwise, automated, bulk, third party, syndicate or duplicate entries are not permitted.
Ruroc may treat an entry as invalid, or disqualify an entrant, where the entry:
- is submitted outside the promotional period or through an unauthorised method;
- breaches these General Terms or the Competition Information;
- contains unlawful, seriously inappropriate or infringing material;
- involves fraud, dishonesty, manipulation, automated activity, vote manipulation or conduct intended to obtain an unfair advantage;
- is incomplete, inaccurate or cannot reasonably be verified; or
- is otherwise contrary to the spirit or fair administration of the Promotion.
Ruroc may verify entries and eligibility at any stage. If a breach is discovered after a prize has been awarded, Ruroc may withhold the prize or, where lawful and appropriate, recover it or its value.
Ruroc is not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed, corrupted, misdirected, incomplete or not received because of technical, network, platform or transmission issues outside its reasonable control.
4. How winners are selected
The Competition Information will state whether a Promotion is a prize draw, a skill-based competition, a public vote, an instant win promotion or another lawful promotional mechanic, and will describe the applicable selection mechanism.
4.1 Prize draws
For a prize draw, winners will be selected fairly from all valid entries by a verifiably random computer process or, where appropriate, by or under the supervision of an independent person. Ruroc will retain appropriate evidence of the selection process.
4.2 Skill based competitions
For a skill-based competition, entries will be assessed against the criteria and judging mechanism stated in the Competition Information. Where the selection of a winning entry is open to subjective interpretation, Ruroc will appoint an independent judge, or a judging panel that includes at least one demonstrably independent and competent member. The full names of the independent judges will be made available on request.
4.3 Votes
Where the Competition Information states that all or part of the winner selection is by a vote:
- the shortlist put to the vote will first be selected by Ruroc or its judging panel against the published judging criteria;
- the voting method, voting window and any eligibility requirement to vote will be stated in the Competition Information, and the vote will be open to any person who meets that requirement without charge;
- one vote is permitted per person, and Ruroc may discount or disregard any vote it reasonably believes to be duplicated, automated, incentivised, purchased or otherwise manipulated;
- entrants must not offer any payment, prize or other inducement in exchange for votes, and may be disqualified if they do; and
where the outcome of a public vote is materially affected by manipulation, platform failure or a tie that the stated tie break does not resolve, the judging panel will determine the result against the published judging criteria.
4.4 Other promotional mechanics
Any instant win or other promotional mechanic will be administered in accordance with the Competition Information and applicable promotional rules, including any independent audit or verification requirements.
5. Winner notification and acceptance
The Competition Information will explain how and when winners will be notified. Ruroc will make reasonable efforts to contact a selected winner using the contact details or platform information provided or used to enter.
Where the Competition Information does not specify a prize acceptance period, the default is 5 working days from Ruroc’s first winner notification, provided Ruroc has made reasonable attempts at contact.
If a selected winner cannot be contacted after reasonable efforts, does not respond within the acceptance period, cannot provide required eligibility or identity evidence, or cannot comply with the applicable terms, Ruroc may select or approach an alternative eligible winner using the same method that applied to the original selection, for example the next ranked entry in a judged competition or a further random selection in a prize draw.
6. Prizes
The nature and number of prizes will be stated in the Competition Information. Unless stated otherwise, prizes are non-transferable and no cash alternative is available.
Ruroc will award prizes as described or provide a reasonable equivalent where the advertised prize becomes unavailable because of circumstances outside Ruroc’s reasonable control. Any substitute prize will be of equal or greater value where reasonably practicable.
Ruroc may withhold delivery of a prize until reasonable eligibility or identity checks are complete. A prize will only be withheld where the entrant has not met qualifying criteria that were clearly stated in the applicable terms.
Ruroc will normally aim to provide prizes within 30 days of the closing date or of winner confirmation, as appropriate. Where a prize is expected to be delivered later than 30 days after the closing date, the Competition Information will state the expected delivery date or timeframe.
Unless stated otherwise in the Competition Information, Ruroc will cover standard delivery costs to the eligible delivery location. Any taxes, duties, import charges, travel documents, insurance, incidental costs or other winner costs not expressly included in the prize are the winner’s responsibility. Winners are responsible for declaring the receipt of any prize to the relevant tax authority where required to do so.
7. Winner information and publicity
Ruroc may publish, or make available on request, information demonstrating that a valid award took place. This will ordinarily be the surname and county or region of each major prize winner and, where applicable, the winning entry. Entrants will be informed of this intention at or before entry and given an opportunity to object to, or reduce, the publication of their personal information. Where an entrant objects, Ruroc may still provide the relevant information to the Advertising Standards Authority or another competent regulator if required to demonstrate that a valid award took place.
A list of the winners of each Promotion will be available for a reasonable period after the result by writing to Ruroc at the promoter address below, or by emailing the address given in the Competition Information.
Winners agree to participate in reasonable publicity relating to the Promotion, which may include their first name, surname initial, county or region, country of residence, a photograph and their entry being published and used in Ruroc promotional, marketing and publicity material in any media worldwide, without further notice and without a fee, and to cooperate with other reasonable publicity requests from Ruroc relating to the Promotion. Ruroc will not require a winner to take part in publicity that is unreasonable in scope, cost or time commitment, and a winner may decline to have a photograph or full name published.
Featuring or sharing an entry during a Promotion does not mean that the entrant has won unless Ruroc expressly confirms that result.
8. Intellectual property
Unless the Competition Information clearly states otherwise, entrants retain ownership of the intellectual property rights in their entries, subject to the licence granted below. Some Promotions require ownership of a winning entry to transfer to Ruroc. Where that applies, it will be stated clearly in the Competition Information before entry.
Licence granted by entering. By entering, each entrant grants Ruroc, and parties authorised by Ruroc, an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty free and transferable licence, with the right to sublicense, to use, edit, reproduce, modify, translate, distribute, prepare derivative works of and display their entry, or any part of it, as Ruroc sees fit, in any medium or method now known or later developed, anywhere in the world. This includes use in Promotion related marketing, on Ruroc websites and social media channels, in internal judging materials and in archive and historic material.
Broader rights. Where a Promotion requires rights beyond the default licence, for example commercial manufacture, sale of products, exclusive use, sublicensing, adaptation or an assignment of rights, those additional rights will be set out clearly in the Competition Information before entry, and Ruroc may require the winner to sign a separate written agreement confirming them as a condition of receiving the prize.
Warranties. Entrants warrant that their entry is their own original work, that they hold all rights and permissions needed to submit it and to grant the rights described in the applicable terms, and that Ruroc’s permitted use of it will not infringe the rights of any third party. If Ruroc reasonably believes an entry infringes third party rights, it may disqualify the entry at any stage, including after a prize has been awarded.
Moral rights. To the fullest extent permitted by law, each entrant irrevocably and unconditionally waives their moral rights in their entry, including the rights conferred by sections 77 and 80 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and any equivalent rights arising under the law of any other jurisdiction, whether held now or acquired later. Where the Competition Information provides for the entrant to be credited, Ruroc will honour that credit.
Generative AI. The Competition Information will state whether artificial intelligence tools may be used in the creation of an entry and what must be disclosed. Where a Promotion involves the commercial use of a winning entry, Ruroc may require that the entry is the entrant’s own human authored work and may disqualify an entry that is found to have been generated by an artificial intelligence tool contrary to the stated rules.
9. Personal information and marketing
Ruroc may process the personal information provided in connection with a Promotion in order to administer entries, verify eligibility, contact entrants and winners, fulfil prizes, manage rights in entries, prevent fraud, evidence fair administration and comply with legal or regulatory obligations. Further information is set out in the Ruroc Privacy Policy and in any promotion specific privacy notice.
Competition administration messages are separate from direct marketing. Ruroc will not make consent to direct marketing a condition of entry. Any marketing consent request will be separate, specific, informed, optional and based on a clear positive action such as an unticked opt in box.
10. Social media platforms
Where a Promotion is run on or promoted through a third-party platform, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or X, the Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with that platform. Entrants and voters release each platform from any liability in connection with the Promotion. Entrants are also responsible for complying with the platform’s own terms of use, and Ruroc may disqualify an entrant whose participation breaches them.
Where participation requires an account on a third-party platform or membership of a group or channel, the Competition Information will say so, and access will be free and open to any eligible person for the duration of the Promotion.
11. Fair administration, changes, suspension and cancellation
Ruroc will conduct Promotions equitably, promptly and under proper supervision, and will make reasonable resources available to administer them fairly.
Ruroc may amend, suspend or cancel a Promotion only where reasonably necessary because of circumstances outside its reasonable control, a legal or regulatory requirement, a fraud or security issue, a technical failure or another circumstance that makes fair or lawful administration materially impracticable.
Ruroc will not materially change the entry conditions of a Promotion after it has begun unless exceptional circumstances make the change necessary. Where a material change is unavoidable, Ruroc will take reasonable steps to communicate it and to avoid unfairly disadvantaging existing entrants.
12. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Ruroc is not responsible for loss, damage, delay, failure, injury or disappointment caused by events outside its reasonable control, or by an entrant’s failure to comply with the applicable terms. Nothing in these General Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Nothing in these General Terms affects an entrant’s statutory rights.
Where a prize includes travel, an activity, an event or participation by a companion, any additional eligibility, health, travel, insurance, conduct or attendance requirements will be stated in the Competition Information.
13. General
If any provision of these General Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
If Ruroc does not enforce a provision immediately, that does not waive its right to enforce it later.
These General Terms and each Promotion are governed by English law. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights or jurisdiction rules that apply to an entrant in their place of residence.
