Ruroc helmets are tested to the limits every day. That couldn't be more true for Ty Cooper. Pulling away from a junction he was hit by a car running a red light, at considerable speed. It's a situation nobody wants to be in. Thankfully, Ty was wearing his Ruroc helmet, and although he received multiple broken ribs and a broken collarbone, his head and neck stayed fully protected, with no signs of concussion.
Every Ruroc ATLAS helmet ships with full ECE 22:05 and DOT FMVSS218 certification. But this is just the minimum standard we work towards. ATLAS 2.0 and 3.0 both have emergency pull tabs to safely and easily remove the comfort liner in the event of a crash, whilst the Fidlock system keeps you secure in your helmet if you fall.
