I had the previous model and thought I would try the newer version. to be totally honest I don't care for the new version as much as the older model I had. Maybe it will get easier over time but the chin guard seemed to be a lot easier to attach on the older version. Also, the rain guard does not stay on very well. I took it off, so I don't lose it

For the price of this helmet, I feel it needs a solid, lengthy and honest review, so here goes. I excitedly bought this helmet mid-season last year (23/24 winter) and was excited to get my hands on what I had built up to be the coolest modular winter sports helmet I had found. The helmet arrived on time, in a nice box, well packaged, and came with a sock to protect the helmet when not in use along with some paperwork and some sticker. The removable faceguard was something that drew me to this style and ultimately to the Ruroc brand. I love the magnetic, swappable lenses, and ease of use and loved that Ruroc has a ton of goggle lens options. We'll start with the good stuff, Pros: This helmet is cool. A lot of thought seems to have gone into the design. From the seamless goggle integration to the magnetic features on the chin strap and face shield to the easily swappable goggles on the goggle frame. It draws a lot of attention and people ask me about it frequently on the mountain. - Magnetic chin strap. After learning how the strap worked, it was magic. You simply bring one side of the strap close to the other and it snaps into place. Once it snaps in, its secure. to remove it, it takes a gentle sliding motion and its free, no need to fiddle around with a buckle and no need to take your gloves off. I will say there was some small adjustment getting used to it but it was more user error on my part. I'm a big fan of this feature and would love to see it more widely used. - Goggles. The seamless design is spot on. Everything fits how it should and I love goggle companies who embrace making lens swaps as easy as possible. Two clips on either side of your goggles and a handful of good magnets go a long way. - Removable facemask. The removable facemask is one of the main reasons I was attracted to this. I ride a ski bike and wanted more protection riding through the trees. The mask has two clips on either side with magnets that help align it. Clips give a loud positive "snap" when they're fastened properly. It also has a removable liner so it can be cleaned or removed on those warmer days. You may see some reviews that mentioned having a hard time finding the "sweet spot" when reattaching the face guard. There is a sweet spot and your straps can get in the way if everything isn't where it should be. It will take a time or two to get the position right and you'll have no issues after that. - Many goggle lens options. From transition lenses to darker polarized lenses, there a are a lot of options. -Customer Service. I believe part of an items cost should reflect the expected quality of customer service. Ruroc leaves nothing to be desired here. Their customer service is responsive and was very helpful when I needed them. Shout out to Kurt and Angel. Cons: - Padding, padding, padding. I cant overstate this and this is the reason for my 3/5 star review. If a helmet isn't comfortable, it doesn't matter how cool it is, I wont want it on my head all day. I'm so disappointed in the lack of comfort in this helmet. Its like all the thought went into the accessories and style of the helmet but the comfort was completely and entirely overlooked. The only padding between your head and the core of the helmet is a 1/8" thick piece of cushioned fabric. This is meant to be a winter helmet, they could have made this thing so cozy. Instead, it's a hard shell against your head all day. It's not a very comfortable helmet at all. Big miss here. I plan to add some additional padding before I look for another helmet option. At the current price point of an RG2, ($379 for the core) this should have been an easy thing to add to the list of positives. - Fabric liner on the inside of the face guard. I appreciate the idea here, but it needs a slight tweak. When the lining is installed, there are small holes in the fabric in front of your nose and mouth meant to make the mask more breathable and help exhaust your breath. However, I've found these holes to be too few, or too small. The way the facemask is shaped, it traps your breath in your mask eventually leading to a moisture drenched inside of your mask. I had some fogging issues because of this too. Once I removed the lining, everything was fine. More airflow without it and issues resolved. I would recommend making bigger holes in the facemask lining to let more air circulate and possibly some additional vents in the hard plastic shield itself. Items of note: The removable part of the facemask is a bit of an awkward shape. If you decide to take it off mid run, you might have trouble storing it unless you're carrying a bag. The little magnetic fin on the front, just above the goggles is cool and all, but it's a matter of time before its lost. I had just loaded on to a chairlift alone and the bar came down unexpectedly. It hit the top of my helmet, and the plastic piece came flying off. hand to go find it later that run. Only one small magnet holding it in place. More magnets or a better securing method is needed. Adjustable turn style in the rear is good and works well. Sock came with the helmet for storage Overall: 3/5. Cool design, good customer service, big miss on comfort. I don't want to wear an uncomfortable expensive helmet. I would feel better paying $250 for this kind of quality and even then, I would expect more padding. I feel it's currently overpriced for the quality.

Fantastic helmet. The new improved design is really helpful especially for the chin guard with the magnets. The magnets make it much more easier to snap it on or off.

The design is great! Only the sizes are way off… S didn’t fit me al at all and also M/L is way to big…

Incredible helmet, feels great and is very comfortable. Don’t have to wear any sun protection on your face! Loved the look and feel of it however it may be a bit overpriced for what it is worth. But overall very good purchase I would say.

Great helmet it does run a little small so order a size up if your unsure, the return and exchange process is super easy and fast if you guess wrong, definitely get alot of complements on the MTN with this helmet
